Takeover: Live Music

Hey. My name is Liam. And i am the one (along with a few other associates) arranging the live music for friday the 13th of august for the Takeover Event. The gig will take place in the auditorium of the brindley and will consist of 8 bands. Local bands such as Inked. Aeroplane Flies High. The No Names. The Funksters and Breed Pitt will be performing for your eager eears. The gig will start at 6pm and will end at 10:30pm. Bar will be open for those who would like to drink. Of course you must be of the legal age to drink and buy alcohol. Which sadly i am not of the legal age. But hey who wants to be smashed on stage...Well i don't... Anyways... BUT YOU MUST BRING ID TO PROVE YOUR 21!... Bands will be playing for at the most 30 mins. There will be a 15 minute interval where you can get refreshments etc. If one band or maybe two drop out, (hopefully not) another band will take their spot. So not to worry for delays. Everything will fall smoothly in to place and will sail soundly. There is also a new side project performing on stage. Formed by Jack Evans and Roanne wood they present their project 'Mogladon'. Me, Tom Ashley and Jack Evans will also be accompanying the parkour group with a drum n bass improvisation. Tom on drums. Jack on bass and Me on pedals, keys and effects. This will be after 13th August. This will be the 14th. So come along and bring your friends because this is going to be the most fanatic runcorn gig you will ever see.

Hi my name is Amy Dolan and I am one of the young people working on the Brindley Takeover Weekend.
The focus of my takeover event is Dance and involves many different dance activities taking place throughout the day on Saturday 14th August.
The day will include choreographic workshops for all ages, during which they will work with professional choreographers from leading dance companies from the UK and will devise a piece of work that will premiere in the Brindley theatre that evening.
There will also be street dance events taking place throughout the town centre of Runcorn, as well as a site-specific dance performance outside of the venue in the evening.
I will update you on my progress as the process takes place.

The Brindley Takeover Weekend 13 - 15 August
Young people have been given the opportunity to take over the Brindley. This weekend will see a number of activities led, coordinated, promoted and performed by young people from Halton. Performances include: Breathtaking skateboarding & Parkour accompanied by the raw, unfettered energy of some of Halton's tightest up and coming bands, a unique interpretation of Alice In Wonderland & The Wizard Of Oz, improvisation, visual displays and artworks presenting an alternative view of Halton. This is a unique opportunity to support young people in showcasing the future of arts as they see it.
